Despite grey skies and intermittent drizzle, the lovely Laura and her dashing fiance were all aglow as they tied the knot at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Laura and John selected a soundtrack featuring classical to contemporary selections for their intimate ceremony, which included a few passing joggers on the running path above the museum (an unexpected salute to a couple who loves to run!)
A stunning view of downtown Chicago provided the backdrop for Erica and Joseph's sunny rooftop ceremony at Ignite Glass Studios. Thanks to four Herculean groomsmen, the huppa stood firmly through some huge gusts of wind! For the cocktail hour, we performed a fun mix of music for guests in the courtyard below.
Nicole and Ryan held their intimate Friday afternoon wedding at the stylish Public Hotel in the Gold Coast neighborhood. We were smitten from our first steps inside its lobby, decorated with an assortment of stunning chandeliers. The ceremony music Nicole and Ryan selected was mostly contemporary, with a splash of classical. For the cocktail hour, our upbeat playlist was a bit more diverse:
We were back at one of our favorite venues, Salvage One, for Monica and Ben's wedding on Sunday. They chose contemporary selections for both their ceremony and cocktail hour, with one custom arrangement. Monica requested Paula Abdul's Rush, Rush. She had always dreamed of walking down the aisle to this song - specifically to the violin solo. Monica processed, arm in arm, with Ben under a canopy of gorgeous vintage chandeliers - a real fairy tale wedding!
We had a delightful evening performing at the Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation’s micro-grid workshop opening reception this past weekend. Held in IIT’s McCormick Tribune Campus Center, the acoustics and lighting could not have been more perfect! A special thanks to Annette and her team for their professionalism and generous refreshments!
We were very fortunate Cathy and Sean held their wedding indoors Friday at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza downtown. With temperatures above 100 degrees, an outdoor ceremony would have been, to say the least, very uncomfortable for everyone involved and attending. For those having outdoor ceremonies, it’s always a good idea to have an alternate location in case of extreme weather conditions! Lovers of Baroque music, the couple included Bach, Vivaldi and Pachelbel with a few popular and contemporary selections.
We were back at one of our favorites venues this past weekend - Lincoln Park's A New Leaf. Amanda and Carlos included many fantastic indie tunes in their ceremony, which was officiated by our friend Toni Maddi. It was also great seeing Victoria Sprung behind the camera. It was only a month ago we were playing her wedding at Monastero's!
